ALMANZO WILDER: LIFE BEFORE LAURA - Being Reviewed
Our long awaited DVD is now out for review to a number of Little House bloggers and other relevant organizations who will hopefully view the program favorably. It’s a bit disconcerting to put your work in other people’s hands for criticism but there is no other way to be in the game. At some point all creative people have to be willing to share their efforts with others or its just private dabbling.
On a related matter, our first release of the program had an undetected problem, which is now being fixed. Unfortunately we’ve had to pull back all the manufactured discs that had been delivered to Burke, NY in order to make the fix. This has caused a delay in shipment of purchased discs, but I couldn’t have something go out to viewers that wasn’t the best I could make it. People who have ordered the DVD should expect to receive it within the next 14 days. Thanks for your patience. Dean

Hey Dean,
I got my disc and love it. I did notice that red screen around the 20 min mark, is that the defect that you are referring to? Should I send my disc back to be fixed??

Hi Dean, I pre ordered your DVD back in June when you were at the Malone site. You were very kind and I enjoyed meeting you and looked forward to receiving your DVD. Are you aware, however, that the Wilder Farm is charging almost ten dollars to ship these DVDs? I’ve had to give my DVD up (as well as my deposit, unfortunately) due to this exorbitant shipping fee. I know you tried to make the cost of the DVD as low as possible so as many people as possible could purchase it. Unfortunately, the Wilder Farm may have just negated that. Do you have any control over this issue?

The revised discs are being manufactured now. The Wilder Homestead will send you a new disc upon request and ask that you send your original disc back so that we can dispose of it.
I’m glad you like the DVD. We were very unhappy to find the flaw, but we are committed to making sure that everyone gets the program we intended to make.

I don’t have any control over the Wilder Homestead’s S&H fees. However, I know they are only covering their costs.

Wow, I finally managed to confirm my order of the dvd and make the payment.
I don’t think the S&H fees of Wilder Farm are too high. As you say, Dean, it’s just covering their cost.
Now I am anxiously waiting to receive my copy and the german fans are awaiting my review.
I already fell in love with the trailer and I am sure I will be in love with the whole program. Diva Marilyn who has seen the dvd told us about the adorable host of the show - I can’t wait to see it.
