Dean Butler

Dean Butler is an actor and producer best known to audiences for his portrayal of Almanzo Wilder in the long running family drama, Little House On The Prairie. Little House has been called one of the finest family dramas in television history. Other series credits include The New Gidget and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In 2012 Dean co-executive produced (with Richard Okie) Pa’s Fiddle: The Music Of America featuring Randy Travis, Rodney Atkins, Ronnie Milsap, Natalie Grant and Committed for PBS. The program is dedicated to the late Michael Landon.

Under his Legacy Documentaries banner Dean has produced nearly 8 hours of DVD bonus content for the Little House on the Prairie series as well as two original documentaries, Almanzo Wilder: Life Before Laura and Little House on the Prairie: The Legacy of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Away from the Prairie, Dean produces Feherty for NBC’s Golf Channel featuring writer and analyst, David Feherty. Feherty’s guests have included NBA Hall of Famer Bill Russell, Donald Trump, Samuel L. Jackson and former President Bill Clinton. Other current projects include two feature length documentaries for Yale University. Earlier Dean was a co-producer on the 2004 and 2006 US Olympic Hall of Fame telecasts for NBC and USA Networks, Goin’ Back (with Rick Okie) for Discovery Military and Inside CART on ESPN2.

Dean graduated from University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA with a B.A. in Communication Arts. Dean and Katherine Butler live in Los Angeles.
